The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has generated a remarkable revenue of ₦1.3 trillion in the first half of 2025.
The Customs Area Controller, Comp Babatunde Olomu, disclosed this during his courtesy visit to the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) in Apapa on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
Comptroller Olomu attributed the impressive revenue figure to strategic partnerships with shipping industry stakeholders, including the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), and improved compliance with trade regulations by freight forwarders and licensed customs agents.
He commended the Association for its unwavering support towards the trade reforms agenda of the federal government which implementation is dutifully championed by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi.
Comptroller Olomu urged NAGAFF to continue its support for the NCS by consistently making sincere declarations and adhering to import and export guidelines.
“We will keep seeking your support to perform better and this is always in the area of compliance. Your collaboration is essential for seamless trade because of the crucial role you play in the port and the trade system,” he said.
The Comptroller acknowledged NAGAFF’s history of professionalism, reliability, and commitment, commending its founder, Dr. Boniface Anebiohiam, for establishing visionary leadership 25 years ago.
He also appreciated the association’s efforts in training professional freight forwarders through the NAGAFF Academy.
The Apapa Command aims to build on its success, with Comptroller Olomu requesting that the great strides achieved in the first half of 2025 be redoubled in the second half of the year.
Dr. Aniebonam, NAGAFF’s founder, applauded Comptroller Olomu’s outstanding achievements and emphasized the importance of compliance in cargo clearance and efficient port operations.
