The Akwa Ibom State branch of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) has expressed its heartfelt appreciation to Governor Umo Eno for his recent decision to dissolve the State Executive Council.
According to Comrade Ndifreke Afangide, State Chairman of CDHR, this bold move demonstrates the Governor’s commitment to effective governance and the betterment of the state.
However, the CDHR has urged the Governor to exercise caution in selecting new Executive Council members, warning against the appointment of individuals who may prioritize personal interests over serving the state.
The organization emphasized the importance of merit, competence, and integrity in the selection process, stating that the people of Akwa Ibom State deserve nothing but the best.
The CDHR believes that the Governor’s administration has the potential to achieve remarkable feats and improve the lives of Akwa Ibom State citizens, but only if the right people are put in the right positions.
The organization has pledged to closely monitor developments in the state and speak out against any attempts to undermine progress.
This development comes as the CDHR continues to promote good governance and defend the rights of the people in Akwa Ibom State.
With its presence in various states across Nigeria, including Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Oyo, and Kwara, the CDHR remains a vital voice in advocating for human rights and accountability in governance.
