The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced significant leadership changes, appointing Engr. Chijioke Okwuokenye as the acting Managing Director/CEO, effective immediately.
This appointment is part of the company’s transformation agenda, aimed at positioning AEDC as the leading customer-focused electricity distribution company in Nigeria’s power sector.
Engr. Okwuokenye brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, having previously served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer.
He oversaw strategic support units and embedded generation projects, and his passion for the Nigerian electricity supply industry’s vision is well-known.
Dr. Stanley Lawson, Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed confidence in Okwuokenye’s ability to drive value for all AEDC stakeholders, citing his technical and commercial background.
In addition, Olumide Jerome has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, responsible for driving efficiency and operational excellence across the company. Jerome previously served as one of the company’s Chief Business Officers.
