The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has announced the third edition of its Business and Investment Forum in Guangzhou, China, aimed at attracting foreign investment and deepening economic cooperation between Nigeria and China.
NACCIMA said the forum forms part of its strategy to support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and contribute to the goal of building a $1 trillion Nigerian economy by 2030.
The association’s National Public Relations Officer, Madinat Adigun-Oladotun, said the forum would be held on the sidelines of the 140th Canton Fair, one of the world’s largest international trade exhibitions.
She said the event would connect Nigeria with Chinese investors, manufacturers, industrialists and business executives across key sectors to unlock investment opportunities and drive industrial growth.
Adigun-Oladotun stressed that Nigeria must move beyond being primarily a consumer market and position itself as a destination for manufacturing, value addition and industrial development.
She noted that achieving this vision would require strategic investments, improved infrastructure, access to finance, technology transfer and stronger international partnerships.
According to her, the previous two editions of the forum had strengthened collaboration with the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) in Guangzhou and were already facilitating investment opportunities in sectors such as automobile and electric vehicle manufacturing, agribusiness, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals and industrial park development.
She called on state governments, federal agencies and private sector operators to participate in the trade mission and use the platform to attract investment, promote local manufacturing, encourage skills development and create jobs.
Adigun-Oladotun urged state governments to showcase their investment potential at the forum, describing it as an opportunity to engage directly with credible Chinese investors and secure partnerships aligned with their economic priorities.
She expressed confidence that the Guangzhou forum would strengthen Nigeria-China economic relations and support Nigeria’s industrial transformation agenda.
