UBA Rewards Customers with Over ₦400m Anniversary Bonus

United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) has rewarded thousands of its customers with more than ₦400 million in anniversary bonuses under its flagship UBA Bumper Account, reinforcing its commitment to promoting a savings culture and rewarding customer loyalty.

The bank said the payout is one of the largest loyalty rewards distributed under the UBA Bumper Account initiative since its launch. Eligible customers received the bonuses directly into their accounts as part of the account’s annual anniversary reward programme.

Speaking on the development, UBA’s Head of Retail Products, Tomiwa Sotiloye, said the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to recognising customers who consistently save with the institution.

According to him, surpassing the ₦400 million milestone demonstrates UBA’s resolve to develop products that not only encourage savings but also deliver tangible financial benefits to customers.

He noted that the UBA Bumper Account is designed to reward disciplined savings by offering eligible customers annual cash bonuses once their accounts reach each anniversary.

Also speaking, UBA’s Group Head of Brands, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, said the bank’s customer-first philosophy continues to shape its product offerings.

She described the over ₦400 million credited to customers’ accounts as evidence of the bank’s commitment to making banking more rewarding while appreciating the confidence customers have placed in the institution.

Ladipo added that the UBA Bumper Account combines competitive savings benefits, digital convenience and loyalty rewards, forming part of the bank’s broader strategy to deepen financial inclusion and encourage sustainable savings habits.

The bank said both new and existing customers can open a UBA Bumper Account through its digital channels, USSD platform, mobile banking application or by visiting any UBA branch to qualify for future anniversary rewards.

UBA currently serves more than 45 million customers across 20 African countries, as well as the United Kingdom, the United States, France and the United Arab Emirates, providing retail, commercial and institutional banking services.
