MWUN Pays Familiarisation Visit to PTML, Apapa

The President-General of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, and his Shipping Branch Executives paid a Familiarisation visit to Ports & Terminals Multipurpose Limited (PTML) this week.

The visit aimed to introduce the newly elected officials to the management of the multinational company and strengthen their working relationship.

The MWUN contingent was warmly received by the Deputy Managing Director of PTML, Nitin Senan, who stood in for the Managing Director, Ascanio Ruso.

Senan expressed his delight in meeting the union officials and highlighted the company’s long-standing cordial relationship with MWUN.

During the meeting, Comrade Tajudeen Abass, President of the Shipping Branch, made some key demands, including the decasualization of union members employed by APMT.

He also requested training for workers on e-systems, particularly on practical aspects of lifting, carrying, and moving items and equipment within the terminals, as well as recognizing hazardous items and their effects on workers.

Senan assured the union officials that PTML values its relationship with MWUN and is committed to partnering with them for mutual benefits.

He emphasized that the company’s door is always open for fresh ideas and development.

The visit strengthens the relationship between MWUN and PTML, highlighting their shared commitment to progress and development in the maritime sector.
