Khalil Suleiman Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), has received the prestigious ‘Royal African Young Leadership Award’ from the Ooni of Ife .
This award comes shortly after Halilu received the Engineering and Innovation meritorious award at the Nigerian Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS).
The Royal African Young Leadership award was presented by His Imperial Majesty, Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, at the 4th edition of the Royal African Young Leadership Forum, which was held in Ile-Ife, Osun State
During the presentation, the Ooni praised Halilu’s exemplary leadership at NASENI, highlighting his vision and innovative approaches towards making Nigeria a technologically and industrially advanced country.
The traditional ruler said Halilu’s examplary performance is, a testament to the dexterity of Nigerian youths and, a positive contribution to the country’s economic prosperity.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing illustrious young Nigerians into positions of authority in his administration .
The Ooni made reference to appointees, like the Director-General of SMEDAN, Charles Odii, the Minister of Youth, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, and the Minister of Youth (State), Ayodele Olawande Wisdom.
“These young men are part of the government of our dear country. I want to use this opportunity to celebrate you and appreciate the President for putting you into government, thereby making your individual contributions to the development of Nigeria,” he stated,
Halilu expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating that this underscores His Majesty’s pride in recognizing and celebrating the positive impact individuals make in their respective endeavours.
The event was organized by the palace of the progenitor of the Yoruba race, to celebrate the achievements of outstanding young African leaders who have made significant contributions to their communities and industries.
Other notable Africans who were honored at the event include Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, and Charles Odii.
