All Is Set For FiBOP 2023 Annual National Conference

Leading institutions in the business, finance and insurance subsectors of the economy have confirmed their participation in the Finance and Business Online Publishers (FiBOP), 2023 Annual National Conference.

Experts from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and the Nigeria Insurers Association (NIA) will form part of the Special Guests at the event.

A statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, Abel Orukpe and the President of FiBOP, Charles Onwuatogwu, says the Commissioner for Insurance, Sunday Thomas will present an opening remark at the event.

According to the statement, the Managing Director of Old Mutual Life Assurance Company Limited, Olusegun Ayo, Omosehin who is also the President of NIA, will lead affairs at the technical session.

Omosehin, is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and also a fellow of the Institute of Directors, a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and the Nigerian Society of International Law.

He holds a BSc. in Political Science, a Masters in International Law and Diplomacy as well as Masters in Economics from the University of Lagos.

Omosehin is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School and Said Business School, University of Oxford, UK.

He began his career in the insurance industry with Crusader Insurance Plc in 1993 and was the MD/CEO Admiral Insurance Company Limited from 2003 to 2007 and later became the Managing Director/CEO of AIICO General Insurance Company Limited.

From AIICO, Omosehin joined the Mutual Benefits Assurance team as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer in April 2010.

Omosehin, as a uniquely positioned and experienced professional is expected to share important industry tips and insights to critical security and economic issues as it relates to insurance in Nigeria.

Also to speak at the event are the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunma and Babajide Otitoju, Controller Current And Public Affairs TVC, will jointly be dissecting the security challenges in the country with emphasis on Lagos state and its security peculiarities as the commercial nerve center of the country.

Other important Dignitaries who have also confirmed attendance at the conference include the Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, Lamido Yuguda, theb Managing Director of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC, Ballo Hassan and Group Managing Director of CRC Credit Bureau, Dr. Anned Tunde Popoola, amongst others.

The event scheduled to hold from October 20th to 22nd, 2023 at Orchids Hotel, Lekki/Ajah Lagos state, promises to be grand.

It is expected to critically address the numerous challenges, bothering on financial risk and insecurity, encountered by individuals, organizations and even government and how insurance and technology can assist to ease these challenges.

With the choice of the conference theme; “Mitigating Risk and Insecurity Using Insurance and Technology in a Harsh Environment”, FiBOP is poised to contribute to checking the increasing wave of financial risk and insecurity across the country.
