Looming Nationwide Protest: OPSN Calls for Restraint, Encourages Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution

The Organised Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN) has urged the government and citizens planning a nationwide protest to engage in constructive dialogue to address the current challenges affecting public welfare.

In a statement, the OPSN, which represents major business membership organizations in Nigeria, emphasized the importance of open and peaceful dialogue in resolving the nation’s challenges.

The Association appealed to protesters to conduct their demonstrations in a peaceful and orderly manner, ensuring that citizens can express their concerns without infringing on the rights of others or disrupting legal activities.

This approach will enable the government to respond appropriately and facilitate productive engagement, leading to potential future collaboration.

As representatives of the business community, the OPSN acknowledged the potential economic impact of mass protests on business operations, economic growth, and job creation.

The Association recalled the significant losses incurred by businesses during the hijacked End SARS protests a few years ago and urged security agencies to protect lives and properties during the impending protest.

The OPSN has consistently engaged with the government to find lasting solutions to the economic challenges facing the country.

The Association reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with all relevant stakeholders to promote a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria for all citizens.

The OPSN comprises prominent business membership organizations, including the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA),

Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), Nigeria Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME), and Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI).

By advocating for dialogue and peaceful engagement, the OPSN aims to ensure that citizens’ concerns are addressed while minimizing the potential negative impact on the economy and business operations.

The Association’s commitment to collaboration and peaceful resolution underscores its dedication to promoting a prosperous and stable Nigeria
