CDHR Akwa Ibom State Branch to Inaugurate Units Across 31 Local Governments

The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) Akwa Ibom State Branch is set to inaugurate its units across all 31 Local Government Areas and key institutions in Akwa Ibom State.

In a recent release, Comrade Ndifreke Afangide, State Chairman, CDHR Akwa Ibom State Branch said the inauguration ceremony, which will kick off in Ikot Ekpene, aims to provide a platform for citizens to report human rights abuses and violations.

According to Afangide, the units will enable citizens to access support and seek redress for human rights concerns.

The CDHR has warned that it will be watching closely and holding government functionaries and institutions accountable for any human rights abuses.

The CDHR has warned individuals and groups bent on violating human rights that they will be brought to justice.

The organization has also urged villages and communities to desist from human rights abuses, emphasizing that the era of impunity is over.

In a show of solidarity, the CDHR Akwa Ibom State Branch has sympathized with citizens affected by the recent flooding situation in Eket, Ibeno, and Eastern Obolo Local Government Areas.

The organization has promised to visit the affected areas and provide relief materials to support those in need.
