A small-scale grocery seller in Plateau State, Ejiofor Akujieze, has won the ₦5 million grand prize in the Golden Morn Golden Hunt, a nationwide consumer promotion organised by Nestlé Nigeria.
Akujieze, who expressed surprise at the win, described it as life-changing, noting that the funds would be used to expand his grocery business.
“It came as a shock to me. I won ₦5 million, and it will go a long way. I am very grateful,” he said.
The campaign, which began in January 2026, attracted widespread participation, with over 200,000 entries recorded nationwide. At the end of seven draws, a total of 16,324 winners emerged, sharing in ₦80 million worth of cash and prizes.
Rewards ranged from ₦10,000 to ₦1 million, alongside airtime and items such as washing machines, laptops, smartphones, and televisions.
Speaking on the initiative, Category Manager, Healthy Cereals at Nestlé Nigeria, Omofasa Orhiunu, said the campaign was designed to deepen consumer engagement and broaden access to the brand.
Also commenting, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Nigeria Plc, Wassim Elhusseini, said the promotion reflects the company’s commitment to rewarding consumer loyalty and creating meaningful impact.
He noted that beyond the prizes, the campaign has been inspiring due to the positive impact on winners’ lives.
Golden Morn, one of the company’s flagship products, has remained a staple in many Nigerian homes for over four decades, providing nutritious meals made from locally sourced grains.
Nestlé Nigeria said initiatives such as the Golden Morn Golden Hunt are part of its broader efforts to strengthen consumer connections while promoting accessible nutrition and supporting communities across the country.
