The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has said the ruling party remains the most credible platform capable of delivering stability, progress and national renewal in Nigeria.
Yilwatda made the assertion in Abuja while addressing key national issues, stressing that Nigeria cannot afford to risk its future on what he described as unstable and unprepared political alternatives.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman said the party has demonstrated the institutional capacity, national spread and political discipline required to manage the country’s complex governance challenges.
He noted that the APC is not only preparing for future elections but is also focused on strengthening governance, deepening democratic culture and rebuilding public trust.
“The APC is a tested political platform with the structure, experience and capacity to respond to the needs of Nigerians,” Yilwatda said.
He added that while governance involves difficult decisions, the party remains committed to supporting reforms aimed at ensuring long-term stability, economic growth and national development.
The APC chairman also criticised opposition parties, describing their internal crises as evidence of poor leadership and lack of readiness to govern.
According to him, persistent factional disputes and organisational weaknesses within opposition platforms raise concerns about their ability to manage a diverse country like Nigeria.
“A party that cannot govern itself cannot govern Nigeria,” he stated.
On electoral processes, Yilwatda said the APC believes in democratic competition and prefers to win elections through popular support rather than legal technicalities.
He emphasised that the party’s growing confidence is driven by expanding grassroots structures, improved internal discipline and broader national acceptance.
Commenting on national security, Yilwatda described the ongoing mass trial of over 500 terrorism suspects as a demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to the rule of law and accountability.
He said the development reflects a comprehensive security approach under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, combining military action with judicial processes and institutional strengthening.
The APC chairman also addressed party affairs in Osun State, urging members to adopt a disciplined, data-driven and well-coordinated approach ahead of future elections.
He stressed the need for unity, clear command structures and effective conflict resolution mechanisms to ensure electoral success, describing Osun as a strategic battleground for the party’s strength in the South-West and a key test ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Yilwatda reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to national development, stating that the party would continue to support policies aimed at improving security, economic recovery and democratic governance.
“Nigeria needs steadiness, structure and capacity. The APC remains prepared and committed to moving the country forward,” he said.
