Dangote Cement Plc has reinforced its commitment to educational development and community empowerment by donating multi-million Naira school supplies to public schools in Lagos.
The initiative, aimed at fostering academic success and societal progress, is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility drive.
The company donated 1,000 school bags, 1,000 dozen of 60-leaf notebooks, and 1,000 mathematical sets to students across schools under Lagos State’s Education District III.
The donation ceremony was held at four schools in Lagos Island, including Boys Junior Academy, Girls Junior Academy, Ebute Elefun Junior High School, and Epetedo Junior High School.
Dangote Cement Group Managing Director, Arvind Pathak, represented by the Group Head, Social Performance, Wakeel Olayiwola, emphasised the company’s dedication to education, empowerment, and community development.
He stated, “Education is the cornerstone of progress. It opens doors, builds character, and lays the foundation for a brighter future.”
The initiative complements previous interventions by Dangote Cement, including the provision of solar inverters, school desks, desktop computers, and the renovation of science laboratories and libraries in selected schools.
The company aims to invest in the academic success of children and the long-term prosperity of society.
The students and principals of the beneficiary schools expressed gratitude to Dangote Cement for the donation, describing it as unprecedented.
They hope that the relationship will last long and contribute to building the educational capacity of Lagos State and developing the students as future leaders.
The Group Chief, HSSE & Sustainability, Dangote Industries Limited, Dr. James Adenuga, emphasised the company’s commitment to supporting communities across the country by identifying and responding to their most pressing needs.
