The Lagos State Government has closed down the overhead Bridge at Toyota along the Oshodi-Isolo Expressway, following a fire outbreak caused by a petrol tanker, which affected the bridge.
The state Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, who disclosed this in a statement, said the closure of the bridge to motorists would make way for the government to conduct structural engineering tests to ascertain the level of damaged to the infrastructure.
According to the statement, alternative routes had been provided for motorists pending the outcome of the tests and the reopening of the bridge to traffic.

“Motorists from Mile2 to Cele along Apapa-Oshodi Expressway will make use of Aiye and Osolo Way to Asa Afariogun through 7&8 to access International Airport Road while motorists from Toyota would use the service lanes by Armed Forces Resettlement Centre to BOC Gases on old NAFDAC Headquarters.” The statement read.
Dr. Oladeinde said Lagos state traffic management officials would be deployed in the affected routes to control and manage traffic flow during the course of the diversions.
He reassured the motoring public that government shall reopen the Airport Bridge for use as soon as the tests or necessary repairs makes it safe and secure to do so.
