Yilwatda Seeks Ekiti Voters’ Support for Tinubu, APC Candidates in 2027 Elections

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has called on voters in Ekiti State to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Yilwatda made the appeal on Thursday at the APC presidential campaign rally in Ado-Ekiti, where he joined Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), governors and other party leaders to present the party’s candidates to the electorate.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman said the turnout at the rally demonstrated the party’s support base in the state and confidence in the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He described Tinubu as a performer and reformer, citing the administration’s economic policies, tax reforms, education interventions and infrastructure projects as reasons Nigerians should support the President for another term.

Yilwatda particularly highlighted the ongoing tax reforms, saying they were designed to protect low-income earners and small businesses from excessive tax burdens while allowing them to retain more resources for personal and business development.

According to him, the reforms are intended to establish a fairer tax system that distributes the burden of taxation more equitably.

He also identified the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a major intervention by the Tinubu administration to expand access to tertiary education and prevent financial constraints from denying eligible students higher educational opportunities.

The APC chairman noted that beneficiaries of the scheme also receive a monthly upkeep allowance of ₦20,000 to support their welfare while pursuing their studies.

On infrastructure, Yilwatda pointed to federal road projects in Ekiti State, including major connections between Ado-Ekiti and Akure, as evidence of the administration’s commitment to improving transportation networks and stimulating economic activities.

He maintained that the administration’s development agenda was reflected in practical interventions across different sectors rather than policy pronouncements alone.

Presenting Tinubu to the electorate for another term, Yilwatda urged Ekiti voters to support APC candidates at all levels, including those contesting seats in the National Assembly and the state House of Assembly.

He argued that electing APC candidates across the legislative and executive arms would strengthen the party’s ability to implement its programmes and sustain ongoing reforms.

The national chairman also described the APC as a party with an extensive nationwide political structure, expressing confidence in its capacity to consolidate its electoral presence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He called on party members, supporters and stakeholders in Ekiti State to remain united and mobilised towards the party’s electoral objectives.

Yilwatda said the APC remained committed to pursuing economic recovery, national development and shared prosperity through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He urged Nigerians to renew their confidence in Tinubu and the APC in the forthcoming elections.
