Zenith Bank to Host 10th International Trade Seminar on Non-Oil Export Growth

Zenith Bank Plc is set to host the 10th edition of its International Trade Seminar on Non-Oil Export on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, with policymakers, regulators, exporters, manufacturers, investors and other stakeholders expected to deliberate on strategies to unlock greater value from Nigeria’s non-oil export sector.

The virtual seminar, themed “Unlocking Value and Harnessing Growth in Non-Oil Export,” will focus on practical measures to move Nigeria beyond the export of raw commodities towards the development of globally competitive value chains.

Discussions will also examine ways to expand market access, strengthen trade infrastructure and financing, improve trade facilitation and increase the contribution of non-oil exports to sustainable economic growth.

Among the keynote speakers expected at the event are Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, Wamkele Mene; Chief Executive Officer of Plot Enterprise Ghana Limited, Patricia Poku-Diaby; and immediate past President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Professor Benedict Oramah.

The seminar will feature two panel sessions bringing together prominent figures from the public and private sectors.

The public sector panel will feature Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM Bank), Abba Bello; Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi; Director, Trade and Exchange Department, Central Bank of Nigeria, Aderinola Shonekan; Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Aisha Rimi; and Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Nonye Ayeni.

The private sector panel will feature Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Starlink Global & Ideal Limited, Adeniji Adeyemi; Group Executive Director of Dangote Group, Sada Ladan-Baki; Senior Consultant at 3T Impex Trade Centre, Bamidele Ayemibo; Managing Director of Terra Aqua Environmental Consultancy Nigeria Limited, Mobolaji Salako; Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of RMM Global, Ramzi Taher; and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Lelook Nigeria Limited, Chief Mrs Chinwe Ezenwa.

The discussions are expected to provide practical insights into export financing, trade facilitation, customs and port efficiency, regulation, market access and the competitiveness of Nigerian businesses in regional and international markets.

A major focus of the seminar will be the AfCFTA and its potential to expand opportunities for Nigerian businesses by providing access to a continental market of more than one billion people.

Participants will examine how Nigerian enterprises can leverage the trade agreement to deepen regional integration, develop competitive value chains, expand their export markets and take advantage of emerging opportunities across Africa.

Zenith Bank has over the years positioned its International Trade Seminar as a platform for dialogue on Nigeria’s trade and export ecosystem, bringing together government agencies, regulators, businesses, financial institutions and other stakeholders to address challenges affecting international commerce.

The bank has also partnered with the AfCFTA Secretariat on initiatives aimed at facilitating cross-border trade and expanding business opportunities across the continent.

Now in its 10th edition, the seminar is expected to build on previous editions by examining how Nigeria can convert its productive capacity into greater export value and sustainable economic growth.

The event will be held virtually and streamed live across Zoom, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X and TikTok, allowing participants in Nigeria and other parts of the world to join the discussions.
