The Finance and Business Online Publishers Association (FiBOP) has announced that all arrangements have been concluded for the successful hosting of the third edition of its Youth Capacity Building and Empowerment Programme for Senior Secondary School students in Lagos State.
The conference, themed “Digital Skills, Artificial Intelligence, Online Safety, Insurance and Financial Literacy for Nigerian Youth,” will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Conference Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.
The event is expected to bring together hundreds of students, educators, policymakers, technology experts, insurance professionals, financial literacy advocates, and other stakeholders committed to preparing young Nigerians for the opportunities and challenges of the digital economy.
A major highlight of this year’s programme will be a special Artificial Intelligence (AI) Masterclass facilitated by a leading AI specialist. The session is designed to provide students with practical exposure to AI technologies, real-world applications, emerging career opportunities, and the skills required to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Speaking ahead of the conference, FiBOP President, Charles Onwuatogwu, said the association remains committed to equipping young Nigerians with relevant knowledge and practical skills that will position them for future success.
“This initiative goes beyond classroom learning. It is about creating opportunities for students to interact directly with industry leaders and experts shaping the future of technology, insurance, finance and business. We are delighted that everything is now in place for what promises to be another impactful edition of the programme,” he said.
Also commenting on the preparations, Head of the Organising Committee, Barnabas Esiet, expressed confidence in the readiness of the organisers and partners for the event.
“We are pleased to announce that all logistics and programme arrangements have been finalized. The AI Masterclass, alongside sessions on digital skills, online safety, insurance and financial literacy, will provide participants with valuable knowledge and inspiration as they prepare for the future workplace and entrepreneurial opportunities,” he said.
The programme will also feature lectures, interactive discussions and mentorship sessions led by industry professionals, policymakers and government officials, including the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Lagos State.
Now in its third year, the FiBOP Youth Capacity Building and Empowerment Programme forms part of the association’s broader commitment to promoting digital literacy, financial inclusion and youth empowerment across Nigeria. The initiative seeks to equip students with practical life skills while connecting them with industry experts and public sector leaders for mentorship and career guidance.
FiBOP is a duly registered association of online publishers dedicated to capacity building and contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of the Nigerian and African economy.
