The Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN) has announced plans to bring together leaders of major business and industrial organisations for its 2026 National Workshop and Award Ceremony scheduled for November 19 in Lagos.
The workshop, which will hold at Protea Hotel, Alausa, Ikeja, is expected to focus on challenges facing Nigeria’s manufacturing sector, local production, investment promotion and strategies for sustainable industrial growth.
Among the key industry leaders expected to speak at the event are the Director-General of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Dr. Chinyere Almona; Director-General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Segun Ajayi-Kadir; and Director-General of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Engr. Sola Obadimu.
Also expected to participate is the Founder and President of the Kosofe Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Joe Femi-Dagunro.
CICAN disclosed this in a press statement issued in Lagos and signed by its National Chairman, Comrade Taiwo Hassan, and Secretary-General, Comrade Olufemi Orioye.
According to the association, the participation of the business leaders will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to examine the challenges confronting manufacturers and explore practical measures to strengthen Nigeria’s industrial base.
The discussions are also expected to address the need to improve the business environment, attract investment, promote local manufacturing and enhance the competitiveness of Nigerian businesses.
CICAN said the workshop would provide a platform for constructive engagement among policymakers, manufacturers, private-sector operators, business executives and the media on issues affecting the country’s economic and industrial development.
The association noted that contributions from the leaders would enrich discussions on the role of the organised private sector in driving economic diversification, creating employment opportunities, boosting exports and positioning Nigerian businesses for stronger participation in the global market.
The workshop is also expected to examine emerging economic realities and identify strategies for addressing challenges affecting businesses and industries across the country.
In addition to the discussions, the event will feature an award ceremony to recognise individuals and organisations whose contributions have significantly advanced commerce, industry and economic development in Nigeria.
CICAN expressed optimism that the participation of the industry leaders would add value to the workshop and strengthen collaboration between the media and the organised private sector.
The event is expected to attract government representatives, captains of industry, financial institutions, manufacturers, business executives, policymakers and journalists from across the country.
