APC Chairman Yilwatda Congratulates Muslims, Seeks Support for Economic Reforms

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 Eid el-Kabir celebration, urging continued support for the reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda described Eid el-Kabir as a sacred festival that symbolises faith, sacrifice, obedience, love and devotion to Almighty Allah.

He said the celebration remains one of the most important events in Islam, reflecting the virtues of selflessness, unity, compassion, tolerance and total submission to the will of God, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.

According to the APC chairman, the spiritual lessons of the season are particularly significant at a critical period in Nigeria’s development, stressing that sacrifice, patience, perseverance and collective responsibility are necessary for building a stronger and more prosperous nation.

Yilwatda urged Nigerians, especially the Muslim Ummah, to continue promoting peaceful coexistence, national unity and harmony across ethnic, religious and political divides.

He also appealed to citizens to support the administration of President Tinubu and its ongoing reforms aimed at improving economic growth, infrastructure, security, job creation and long-term national prosperity.

The APC chairman acknowledged that the reforms may demand patience and shared sacrifice from Nigerians, but maintained that they are essential for restoring economic stability, strengthening institutions and securing a better future for coming generations.

He expressed confidence that under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria would emerge stronger, more resilient and economically competitive among nations.

Yilwatda further called on Nigerians to use the Eid celebration to pray for peace, unity, security and progress in the country, as well as divine wisdom and guidance for leaders at all levels.

He also prayed for Allah to accept the sacrifices and acts of worship of Muslim faithful and grant families peace, joy, good health and abundant blessings during and after the celebration.

The APC chairman wished Muslims in Nigeria and across the world a peaceful, prosperous and memorable Eid el-Kabir celebration.
