WISTA Nigeria Commends Launch of CVFF Application Portal

The Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria has congratulated the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) on the commissioning and official launch of the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund (CVFF) Application Portal.

In a statement issued by the President of WISTA Nigeria, Dr. Odunayo Ani, the association described the launch as a significant milestone for the Nigerian maritime sector.

Ani lauded the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and the Director-General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, for their leadership and commitment to advancing the industry through innovative and practical reforms.

She noted that the introduction of the CVFF Application Portal would enhance transparency, improve accessibility, and boost stakeholders’ confidence in the administration of the fund.

According to her, the initiative demonstrates a strong commitment to efficiency, inclusiveness, and sustainable growth within Nigeria’s marine and blue economy.

WISTA Nigeria also commended the Ministry and NIMASA for their strategic efforts to modernise processes, deepen stakeholder engagement, and create new opportunities for maritime operators and investors.

The association reaffirmed its support for policies and initiatives that promote equity, professionalism, and innovation, particularly for women in the maritime industry.

Ani further expressed optimism about continued collaboration between WISTA Nigeria, the Ministry, NIMASA, and other stakeholders to build a more resilient, competitive, and inclusive maritime sector.

She congratulated the Ministry and the agency on what she described as a landmark achievement for the industry.
