Melsmore Marine Limited and MWUN Sign Collective Bargaining Agreement

Melsmore Marine Limited, located in Victoria Island, Lagos, has signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN).

The agreement, which was signed on Monday, marks a significant milestone for both the management of Melsmore Marine Limited and the MWUN.

MWUN’s President-General, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, described the signing of the CBA as a landmark achievement, highlighting the importance of good industrial relations and the welfare of workers.

He commended the management of Melsmore Marine Limited for recognising the value of its workers and for increasing their remuneration to a living wage.

Comrade Bunu assured the management of Melsmore Marine Limited of a continuous harmonious relationship between the company and the union.

He expressed his gratitude to the management for giving a listening ear to the union and for working towards the betterment of its workers.

The signing of the CBA is expected to boost the morale and productivity of Melsmore’s workers, who are bonafide members of the MWUN.

The agreement underscores the importance of collaboration and mutual understanding between employers and employees in the maritime industry.
