Nigerian Senate Confirms New NCC Board Members

The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Idris Ibikunle Olorunnimbe as Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), representing the South West region.

A statement signed by Nnenna Ukoha, NCC Head, Public Affairs, said the confirmation follows a successful screening by the Senate Committee on Communications.

According to the statement, the Senate also confirmed Maryam Bayi (North East), Senator Ramoni Olalekan Mustafa (South West), and Ikechukwu Ugwuegede (South East) as Commissioners of the NCC Board.

Additionally, Princess Oforitsenere Emiko and Christopher Sandy Okorie, both from the South South region, were confirmed as members of the Board.

The newly confirmed Chairman and Commissioners will join the Executive Vice Chairman, Dr. Aminu Maida (North West); Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, Engineer Abraham Oshadami (North Central); and Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management, Rimini Makama (North Central), who were previously confirmed.

With this confirmation, the NCC Board is now fully constituted and poised to drive growth and innovation in Nigeria’s telecommunications industry.
