The Nigeria Customs Service, Tincan Island Port Command, has handed over illicit drugs worth ₦5.3 billion to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The drugs were concealed in imported vehicles within two containers intercepted on September 4, 2025, and October 24, 2025.
The seized drugs include 156 packets of Colorado Indica weighing 78 kilograms, 1.2 kilograms of Hashish Oil, 2,081 packages of Cannabis Indica weighing 1,093 kilograms, and eight packages of Crystal Methamphetamine weighing 8 kilograms.
Comptroller Frank Onyeka, Customs Area Controller, Tincan Island Port Command, highlighted the Command’s commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s borders and enforcing international trade regulations.
He commended the NDLEA and other security agencies for their collaboration in combating drug trafficking.

– Container 1 (HLXU8500072); 156 packets of Colorado Indica (78 kg) and 1.2 kg of Hashish Oil
– Container 2 (FANU 312876/9); 2,081 packages of Cannabis Indica (1,093 kg) and 8 packages of Crystal Methamphetamine (8 kg).
NDLEA Tincan Strategic Command, praised the Nigeria Customs Service for their vigilance and commitment to intercepting illicit drugs.
The command’s Commander, Daniel Onyishi, promised to conduct further investigation, prosecution, and take necessary legal actions.
