Dangote Refinery Denies Shutdown Rumors, Affirms Stable Operations

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has denied recent reports alleging a shutdown of its operations, stating that its activities remain fully active and stable.

In a statement by the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, the refinery’s management clarified that truck loading has not been suspended and production has not been interrupted.

The refinery assured the public that it consistently supplies over 40 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) daily, alongside steady volumes of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel).

The management attributed intermittent sales of Residual Catalytic Oil (RCO) to normal business operations, often involving large parcel sales.

The refinery challenged those sponsoring the shutdown rumors to place orders for daily deliveries of up to 40 million litres of PMS and 15 million litres of diesel for the next 90 days.

This, the refinery said, would demonstrate the baselessness of the claims and showcase its commitment to transparency and Nigeria’s energy security.

The Dangote Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to Nigeria’s energy independence, urging the public to disregard unfounded rumours sponsored by unscrupulous individuals seeking to undermine the country’s energy security.

The refinery’s gantry price for PMS remains N850, and it continues to operate smoothly, employing advanced predictive and preventive maintenance protocols to ensure uninterrupted operations.
