The Chairman of NGX Group, Alhaji Dr Umaru Kwairanga; Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Mrs Bola Odukale; and Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE), Dr Muda Yusuf, are among leading industry figures billed to headline the 2026 Annual Conference and Awards of the Finance and Business Online Publishers Association (FiBOP).
The two-day event is scheduled for October 17–18, 2026, at Orchids Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, with Yusuf serving as Chairman of the conference and Odukale as Guest Speaker.
Kwairanga will attend as a Special Guest alongside other prominent personalities from the public and private sectors.
The conference, themed “Unlocking Nigeria’s Economic Potential: Taxation, Industry, Insurance, Fintech, Trade & Investment as Catalysts for Nigeria’s $1 Trillion Vision,” will bring together policymakers, regulators, investors, business leaders, financial experts and media professionals to examine pathways for accelerating Nigeria’s economic growth.
Chairman of the organiseing Committee, Barnabas Esiet, said discussions will focus on critical issues including economic reforms, private-sector development, digital transformation, financial inclusion, insurance, capital market development, taxation, trade and investment.
Several leading institutions have also confirmed their participation, including the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Zenith Bank and Polaris Bank among others.
FiBOP said the growing institutional support reflects the relevance of the conference to current economic conversations and the need for stronger collaboration among government, regulators, businesses, investors and the media.
The event will also feature the FiBOP Awards, which will recognise individuals and organisations that have made outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s economy and development across sectors including business, financial services, capital markets and technology.
The association said the conference is designed to go beyond policy discussions by creating opportunities for meaningful engagement, networking and collaboration among key stakeholders.
FiBOP urged stakeholders in the financial, business and economic sectors to look forward to two days of high-level discussions and recognition of excellence, as the association seeks to promote responsible business journalism and contribute to Nigeria’s economic development through accurate and balanced reporting.
