The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has once again proven its commitment to efficiency and transparency by securing the top spot in the compliance ranking scale released by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).

In the latest report, SON, along with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), emerged as the top-performing agencies overall.

The ranking assessed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Federal Government in Nigeria based on their transparency and efficiency in providing cost-effective, timely, and customer-friendly services.

NCDMB and SON claimed the first and second positions respectively in terms of efficiency and transparency, marking the second consecutive year that SON has achieved this recognition.

The analysis of the PEBEC Business Facilitation Performance Results for January – December 2023 revealed that NCDMB scored 70.07 percent, SON 69.5 percent, CAC 65.12 percent, FCCPC 65.04 percent, and NEXIM 63.51 percent.

PEBEC highlighted that the high-performing MDAs demonstrated exceptional performance in both efficiency and transparency by diligently adhering to their Service Level Agreements (SLAs) throughout the reporting year.

In response to the acknowledgment from PEBEC, the Director General/Chief Executive, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke, attributed this achievement to the dedicated and hardworking staff of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria.

He emphasized that this recognition reflects SON’s unwavering commitment to facilitating business and trade in the country, aligning with the Federal Government’s efforts to create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
