The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Plateau State, have announced a partnership aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s digital economy and creating job opportunities for its youth population.
During a visit by participants of the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 46 of NIPSS to NASENI, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, expressed his excitement at the collaboration.
He highlighted NASENI’s potential to empower Nigerian youths and drive self-reliance in manufacturing and the digital economy.
Halilu emphasized the importance of strengthening stakeholders’ capacity to access and scale up technologies, underscoring the need for a supportive policy environment, access to finance, incentives, and innovation capacities.
The Director-General of NIPSS, Prof. Ayo Omotayo, who led the delegation, emphasized the importance of translating NASENI’s innovations into finished products to empower Nigerian youth. He highlighted the need for collaboration between the two organizations to achieve this goal.
Omotayo noted that NIPSS participants were keen to understand NASENI’s vision, mission, and roles in creating job opportunities for Nigerian youth in the digital economy. He stressed the significance of infrastructure in manufacturing and the crucial role NASENI plays in this sector.
The collaboration between NASENI and NIPSS aims to explore ways to transfer NASENI’s innovations into effective job creation and youth empowerment.
By working together, the two organizations hope to contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
