Local Technology: Minister of Industry Lauds NASENI’s Industrial Drive

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, has commended the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) for its transformational strides under the leadership of Khalil Suleiman Halilu.

The minister made the commendation after inspecting NASENI facilities, including the NASENI Innovation Hub and Technology Park, on August 11, 2025.

Dr. Oduwole praised the agency’s commitment to promoting Made-in-Nigeria products, noting that she was impressed by the 100% locally made products on display.

She commended the agency’s efforts in boosting domestic production, encouraging local consumption, and creating jobs through industrialization.

The minister was taken on a tour of NASENI’s facilities, where she saw various products, including world-class drugs, HIV vaccines, and an anti-ballistic missile armored vehicle.

She described the potentials seen in NASENI as a national economic transformation and appealed to the agency’s leadership to continue its commercialization drive.

The Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, Mr. Halilu, expressed appreciation for the minister’s visit and called for stronger collaboration with the Ministry to further boost productivity.

He also appealed to the media to embrace developmental journalism and highlighted that NASENI currently has over 40 market-ready products capable of competing globally.

The minister’s visit demonstrates the government’s commitment to promoting industrialization and domestic production in Nigeria.

NASENI’s efforts in developing Made-in-Nigeria products are expected to contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth and development.
