NACCIMA Bags National Recognition for Promoting Industry-Led Skills Training

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has been honoured with the Outstanding Private Sector TVET Partner Award at the 2026 National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Conference held in Lagos.

The award, presented in recognition of NACCIMA’s contributions to skills development and industry-driven vocational education, was received on behalf of the Association by its Director-General, Engr. Sola Obadimu.

The recognition highlights NACCIMA’s sustained efforts in advancing industry-led skills development, strengthening collaboration between the private sector and training institutions, and promoting demand-driven technical and vocational education frameworks that address the evolving needs of Nigeria’s labour market.

Under the leadership of its National President, Engr. Jani Ibrahim, NACCIMA has continued to champion initiatives aimed at bridging the skills gap, enhancing youth employability, and supporting enterprise development as a pathway to inclusive economic growth.

The National TVET Conference, a flagship platform for stakeholders in the education and skills development ecosystem, brought together representatives of government, industry, academia, and development partners to explore strategies for strengthening technical and vocational education as a catalyst for employability and industrial competitiveness.

The conference was convened by the Federal Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB). The event was themed: “Harnessing TVET as a Pathway to Employment: Building a System for Employability, Inclusion, and Green Growth in Nigeria.”

The conference received support from several international development partners, including the Government of France, Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the German Government through GIZ-SKYE, the European Union (EU), ECOWAS, the Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA), the Swiss Government, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), among others.

According to the organisers, the award recognises institutions that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s technical and vocational education system and aligning skills development with industry requirements.

NACCIMA reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with government agencies, development partners, educational institutions, and the private sector to deepen reforms within Nigeria’s TVET ecosystem and ensure that workforce development remains aligned with national development priorities.
