Lafarge Africa Plc has reported a Profit After Tax of N97.95 billion for the first quarter of the 2026 financial year, representing a 101 per cent increase from N48.64 billion recorded in the same period of 2025.
The company’s unaudited financial results also show that net sales rose to N334.88 billion, marking a 35 per cent growth compared to N248.35 billion posted in the corresponding period last year.
Commenting on the performance, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, attributed the strong results to sustained revenue growth, improved operational efficiency, and disciplined cost management.
He noted that operating profit increased by 97 per cent to N141 billion, driven by higher sales volumes, improved plant stability, and enhanced distribution efficiency.
“Our Q1 2026 results reflect continued progress in executing our strategic priorities,” Alade-Akinyemi said, adding that the company remains focused on delivering sustainable value to shareholders through operational excellence and strategic execution.
He further explained that the surge in profitability was supported by supply assurance, prudent financial management, and an improved route-to-market strategy. According to him, easing macroeconomic pressures and reduced global supply chain disruptions also contributed to increased consumer demand and volume growth.
The CEO disclosed that the company would continue to leverage the expertise of its technical partner, Huaxin Building Materials Ltd, to enhance operational efficiency and unlock further growth opportunities.
Looking ahead, Lafarge Africa expressed optimism about continued expansion in Nigeria’s infrastructure and construction sectors, citing improving economic conditions and rising demand across key segments.
Alade-Akinyemi reaffirmed the company’s commitment to disciplined capital deployment, cost optimisation, and sustainability-driven growth, while appreciating customers and stakeholders for their continued support.
Lafarge Africa Plc, a member of the Huaxin Group, operates cement plants across Ogun, Gombe, and Cross River states, with an installed production capacity of 10.5 million metric tonnes per annum.
