The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and united, urging citizens to embrace sacrifice, prayer, and patriotism as Christians mark the 2026 Easter celebration.
In his Easter message, Yilwatda described Easter as central to the Christian faith, reflecting the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and a period for deep reflection on faith, resilience, and forgiveness.
He said the lessons of Easter remain relevant to Nigeria’s current challenges, encouraging citizens to stay steadfast despite hardship.
The APC chairman also expressed concern over insecurity, sympathising with victims of violence, banditry, and kidnapping, and called for greater cooperation to restore peace.
Prof. Yilwatda commended the efforts of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in addressing security challenges, while urging continued collaboration among stakeholders.
He further called on Nigerians to use the season to pray for the nation and its leaders, expressing optimism that the country will overcome its difficulties through unity, faith, and responsible leadership.
