SanlamAllianz General Insurance has announced the appointment of Jacqueline Uche Agweh as its substantive Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective February 11, 2026.
The company said Agweh’s appointment underscores its commitment to strengthening leadership capacity and enhancing operational excellence within Nigeria’s insurance industry.
Agweh brings more than three decades of industry experience spanning underwriting, claims management, reinsurance, insurance broking, life assurance, and technical operations. Prior to her elevation, she served as Executive Director, Technical Operations at SanlamAllianz General Insurance.
She has also held senior management positions at FBN General Insurance, now known as Sanlam General Insurance, Oasis Insurance Plc, Kelsan Insurance Brokers Limited, and ACEN Insurance Co. Limited, among other institutions in the sector.
A Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (FCIIN), Agweh is an alumna of the Lagos Business School (SMP 69) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Insurance from the University of Lagos.
Throughout her career, she has played active roles in industry development, serving on several committees of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA). She previously chaired the Sub-Committee on Outstanding Claims and the Motor Technical Committee Retreat in 2022.
Agweh has received multiple industry recognitions, including the Chairman’s Gold Award for Leadership from the former FBN General Insurance. She is widely regarded for her strategic leadership, customer-focused approach, and dedication to innovation and continuous improvement.
