The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Maritime Police Command, AIG Chinedu Oko, has received a courtesy visit from the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) led by Ogbonnah Margaret, Director Regulatory Services.
The visit aimed to deepen collaboration between the two institutions in areas of trade facilitation, port security, and stakeholder engagement.
During the visit, Ogbonnah Margaret commended the Nigeria Police Force for its efforts in securing the maritime domain and expressed the Council’s desire to work closely with the Maritime Police Command.

AIG Chinedu Oko reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to collaborating with the NSC and other maritime stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure maritime environment.
The AIG assured that law enforcement operations within port corridors would align with the Federal Government’s policy on the Ease of Doing Business, ensuring that security measures enhance rather than hinder legitimate trade and investment activities.

The visit concluded with an exchange of goodwill and a group photograph, symbolizing the mutual commitment of both institutions to fostering a safe, secure, and business-friendly maritime environment.
