DataPro to Host International Webinar on Nigeria’s Investment-Grade Credit Rating Roadmap

DataPro Limited has announced plans to host its 6th International Rating Webinar, with a focus on Nigeria’s pathway to achieving an investment-grade sovereign credit rating by 2030.

The virtual event, titled “Sovereign Credit Rating: Africa’s Roadmap to Investment-Grade Status,” is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (WAT) and will bring together policymakers, development institutions, financial market operators, investors, and corporate stakeholders for discussions on Africa’s economic future.

According to DataPro, the webinar follows the recent upgrade of Nigeria’s long-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit rating from B- to B, a development the agency described as a significant milestone in the country’s economic recovery and a positive signal to global investors.

The agency said the upgrade reflects growing confidence in Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms, including foreign exchange market liberalisation, increased oil production, and improved coordination between monetary and fiscal policies.

DataPro noted that attaining investment-grade status would require sustained macroeconomic discipline, stronger institutions, policy stability, and structural reforms. It added that the webinar forms part of efforts to support Nigeria’s ambition of building a $1 trillion economy by 2030.

The programme will feature a keynote presentation titled “Achieving Investment-Grade Rating by 2030: The Roadmap for Nigeria.”

Panel discussions will cover fiscal discipline and public finance reforms, debt sustainability and borrowing strategy, foreign exchange stability and external resilience, governance and policy credibility, banking sector stability, and infrastructure and human capital development.

DataPro said participants would gain deeper insights into sovereign credit ratings, Nigeria’s recent credit rating upgrade, reform priorities for investment-grade aspirations, strategies to strengthen investor confidence in emerging markets, and lessons from international experiences.

The webinar will be held online and participation is free, with interested participants required to register in advance.
