FirstBank Unveils 500-Seater Premium Bleacher for Carnival Calabar & Festival 2025

FirstBank has announced its sponsorship of the Carnival Calabar & Festival 2025, introducing what it described as the first private premium seating facility in the history of the event.

As part of the sponsorship, the bank is constructing a 500-seater premium bleacher aimed at offering enhanced comfort, safety and an improved viewing experience for spectators at the annual cultural celebration.

Speaking on the initiative, the Acting Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications at FirstBank, Olayinka Ijabiyi, said the sponsorship aligns with the bank’s First@Arts initiative, which supports the creative arts value chain across Nigeria.

He noted that carnivals and other art forms play a significant role in promoting unity, self-expression and cultural exchange.

Ijabiyi said FirstBank’s investment in the Carnival Calabar & Festival reflects its longstanding commitment to preserving Nigeria’s cultural heritage, adding that the new premium bleacher is intended to elevate the overall experience for attendees.

The Chairman of the Cross River State Carnival Calabar Commission, Gabe Onah, welcomed the partnership, describing it as a strong example of private-sector support for culture and tourism.

According to him, FirstBank’s involvement will enhance the quality of the carnival and further boost its international profile.

The Carnival Calabar & Festival 2025 is being officially marketed by Okhma Global Limited, which is responsible for brand partnerships, promotional activities and ticket sales.

The firm has worked with the Cross River State Government for over a decade on the festival, contributing to its commercial expansion and global visibility.
