NIMASA Holds Inaugural Senior Management Retreat to Drive Operational Excellence

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has held its inaugural Senior Management Retreat for operational staff, themed “One Mission, One Team: Driving Operational Excellence.”

The retreat brought together senior personnel to discuss strategies for achieving operational excellence and promoting staff welfare.

The Director-General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, emphasized the importance of staff welfare and continuous capacity development in achieving operational excellence.

He noted that the Agency’s success depends on the commitment and dedication of its workforce and pledged to provide a conducive environment for professional growth.

Six exceptional staff members were recognized for their outstanding performance in 2023 and 2024. The awardees include Heaky Dimowo, Director Marine and Environment Management Department; Gloria Ayansoda, Co-ordinator Western zone; Aina Akinbola Aderemi, Port Service controller Calabar Port; Olayiwola Olanrewaju, best District Surveyor; Moshood Taiwo Akinwumi, Employee of the year 2023; and Olumide Olugoke Oyewole, Employee of the year 2024.

The Executive Director of Operations, Engr. Fatai Taiye Adeyemi, described the retreat as a valuable platform for knowledge transfer, team building, and strategic alignment.

He emphasized his commitment to an open-door policy, promoting transparent communication and collaborative problem-solving.

The retreat concluded with a renewed sense of purpose, unity, and commitment to driving NIMASA’s operations to greater heights.
