Nigeria Customs Service, NIPR Join Forces to Boost Professionalism in PR Practice

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), FCT Chapter, have agreed to deepen collaboration in promoting professionalism, ethical standards, and strategic communication in public relations practice.

This agreement was reached during a courtesy visit by the NCS’s National Public Relations Officer, Assistant Comptroller Abdullahi Maiwada, to the NIPR FCT Secretariat in Abuja.

The visit aimed to strengthen institutional partnerships and promote knowledge sharing between the two organizations.

Maiwada emphasized the importance of excellence and professionalism in public relations practice, highlighting the NCS’s commitment to these values under the leadership of Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi.

The Chairman of the NIPR FCT Chapter, Stanley Ogadigo, commended the NCS for its communication efforts and pledged the Institute’s full support in promoting initiatives that would enhance public relations practice in the public sector.

Discussions during the visit focused on possible training programs, professional development opportunities, and initiatives to adapt public communication strategies to the rapidly evolving media landscape.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to fostering continuous learning and strengthening the credibility of government institutions through ethical and strategic public relations.

The meeting ended on a note of optimism, with the NCS and NIPR expressing readiness to pursue mutually beneficial initiatives to enhance public sector communication nationwide.
