Ecobank Nigeria has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Code 14 Labs, a leading provider of coding education, to expand access to digital skills training for children across Nigeria.
The collaboration aims to provide affordable annual training and proficiency certification to students, leveraging Code 14 Labs’ interactive coding workbooks and network of trained teachers.
Ecobank will utilize its extensive operational network across Africa to provide nationwide and pan-African access to coding education.
According to Adeola Ogunyemi, Head of Consumer Banking at Ecobank Nigeria, “This partnership reflects our commitment to bridging the digital divide, promoting inclusion, and preparing the next generation for a tech-driven future.”
To participate in the program, parents and guardians are encouraged to open Ecobank’s MyFirst Account, a specialized high-yield savings product designed for children under 16.
Code 14 Labs aims to train 50,000 learners to proficiency level in essential programming languages, with the support of partners like the British Council and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
This initiative is expected to have a profound impact on Nigeria’s digital landscape, equipping young people with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly tech-driven world.
