Nestlé Nigeria Plc has opened applications for its 2026/2027 Community Scholarship Programme, continuing its efforts to support students in its host communities and expand access to education for young Nigerians.
The company said the scholarship, launched in 2020, has supported more than 250 students by helping to reduce the financial burden of education and creating opportunities for academic success.
According to Nestlé Nigeria, the programme is targeted at students studying science and technology-related courses and provides financial support for tuition, books, and other educational expenses. The initiative is aimed at helping beneficiaries acquire the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to Nigeria’s future development.
Nestlé said the programme has recorded strong academic outcomes, with more than 70 per cent of tracked beneficiaries either maintaining or graduating with First Class honours.
Applications are open to eligible students from Agbara, Sagamu, and Abaji.
For the tertiary education category, applicants must be current 100-level students studying science or technical courses and must have scored at least 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Secondary education applicants must be SS1 science students with a minimum of five credit passes in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The company said applications must be completed through the designated online portal and that submitted entries will be verified by educational institutions, community unions, and community leaders to ensure a transparent selection process. Applications close on August 28, 2026.
A beneficiary of the programme, Kazeem Fatai, a recent First Class graduate of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), said the scholarship played a significant role in helping him remain focused throughout his academic journey.
“Receiving the Nestlé Community Scholarship was more than financial support; it was a vote of confidence in my future. Knowing that Nestlé continued to invest in my education year after year motivated me to stay committed to my goal of graduating with a First Class,” he said.
Speaking on the programme, Victoria Uwadoka, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability Lead at Nestlé Nigeria, said the scholarship reflects the company’s commitment to creating opportunities for young people and supporting the development of its host communities.
“At Nestlé, we believe that stronger communities are built by creating opportunities for people to thrive. Through the Community Scholarship Programme, we are supporting young people with access to education while investing in the future potential of our host communities,” she said.
Uwadoka added that the initiative is part of the company’s broader Nestlé for Good programme, which focuses on education, skills development, nutrition education, youth empowerment, and sustainable community development.
