FiBOP Unveils 2026 Youth Programme on AI, Insurance and Financial Literacy

The Finance and Business Online Publishers Association (FiBOP) has announced plans to host the third edition of its Youth Capacity Building and Empowerment Programme for senior secondary school students in Lagos State, with a focus on insurance, artificial intelligence, digital skills, and financial literacy.

The programme, themed “Digital Skills, Artificial Intelligence, Online Safety, Insurance, and Financial Literacy for Nigerian Youth,” is scheduled to hold on June 4, 2026, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Conference Centre in Ikeja, Lagos.

According to the organisers, one of the major highlights of this year’s edition will be a specialised masterclass on Artificial Intelligence, to be facilitated by a leading AI expert. The session is expected to provide students with practical exposure to the workings of AI, its real-world applications, and career opportunities available within Nigeria and globally.

President of FiBOP, Charles Onwuatogwu, said the initiative was designed to expose students to industry professionals and equip them with practical knowledge beyond classroom learning.

“This initiative is about giving students more than theory and ensuring that we give them the opportunity to interact directly with experts, thereby exposing them to those building the future of technology, insurance and finance,” he said.

Onwuatogwu added that the AI masterclass would be one of the most impactful sessions of the programme, helping students prepare for future job market demands driven by emerging technologies.

The event will also feature lectures and mentorship sessions on digital skills, online safety, insurance, and financial literacy. Speakers are expected to include industry professionals, policymakers, and government officials, including the Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education.

Now in its third year, the FiBOP Youth Capacity Building and Empowerment Programme is part of the association’s efforts to promote digital skills and financial literacy among secondary school students in Lagos State and across Nigeria.

FiBOP said the initiative aims to equip young Nigerians with practical knowledge while connecting them with industry leaders and public sector stakeholders for mentorship and career guidance.

FiBOP is a registered body of online publishers committed to contributing to the growth and development of the Nigerian and African economy.
