Zenith Bank Plc has announced plans to commemorate the 2026 International Women’s Day (IWD) with a renewed call for purposeful action and leadership through a high-level seminar in Lagos.
The Bank will host its annual International Women’s Day Seminar on Monday, March 9, 2026, at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, as part of activities marking the global celebration.
Aligned with the 2026 global theme, “Give to Gain,” which emphasises the principle that sustainable progress is achieved when individuals and institutions intentionally invest in women, the Bank’s seminar will be held under the theme, “Take It, You Own It.”
According to the organisers, the theme reflects the institution’s belief that while organisations must create enabling environments and equitable systems, women must also step forward to claim opportunities, assert their value, and lead with confidence.
The 2026 edition builds on the momentum of previous seminars, including the 2025 programme themed “Winning On All Fronts.” Over the years, the Bank’s IWD initiatives have convened women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and emerging talents for dialogue on gender equity, professional advancement, and inclusive growth.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank, Dr. Adaora Umeoji, said International Women’s Day serves as a reminder that progress requires deliberate effort.
“‘Give to Gain’ speaks to the responsibility institutions have to create real opportunities, while our theme ‘Take It, You Own It’ challenges women to step forward boldly and lead. At Zenith Bank, we are deliberate about building environments where women are supported to grow, thrive, and shape outcomes, not only within our institution but across the communities and industries we serve,” she said.
The seminar will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and creative interludes, with segments focused on leadership insight, professional empowerment, wellbeing, and collaboration.
The Bank noted that the 2026 event is designed not merely as a commemorative gathering but as a platform for influence and inspiration, bringing together accomplished women and progressive leaders across business, governance, technology, creative industries, and social impact.
Through its alignment with the global theme and its seminar focus, Zenith Bank said it remains committed to fostering platforms where women’s potential is recognised, amplified, and fully realised, while advancing inclusive growth across the sectors it serves.
