Nigeria to Host Maiden Ceramic Investment Summit to Boost Value Chain, GDP

Nigeria is set to deepen its footprint in the global ceramics industry with the launch of the maiden Nigeria Ceramic Investment Summit and Product Exhibition (NCISPE 2026), an initiative aimed at strengthening the sector’s value chain and boosting the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The three-day summit and exhibition, scheduled to hold from June 23 to 25, 2026, in Lagos, is positioned as an international platform to unlock opportunities in Africa’s fast-growing ceramic market and attract both local and foreign investments.

NCISPE 2026 is expected to convene global ceramic manufacturers, technology providers, investors, policymakers, developers and supply-chain leaders from Africa, China, India, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Türkiye and other countries.

Participants will explore opportunities across ceramic tiles, sanitary ware, tableware, technical ceramics, raw materials and allied manufacturing segments.

The maiden edition of the summit, themed “Where investment, industry, policy, and talent converge for measurable returns,” is designed to deliver commercial, institutional and career outcomes through structured engagement across Nigeria’s ceramic and construction value chain.

In a press statement, the Summit Director and Convener, Prof. Patrick Oaikhinan, described Nigeria as a country with strong fundamentals for ceramic manufacturing and trade, given its status as Africa’s largest economy and most populous nation.

Oaikhinan, a ceramic engineer and academic, said the summit is structured as a deal-making and partnership-driven platform that blends high-level policy dialogue with practical investment engagement.

He noted that despite Nigeria’s technical expertise and market potential, manufacturers continue to grapple with challenges such as high energy costs, limited access to finance, intense competition from imported products and poorly integrated supply chains.

According to him, the essence of NCISPE 2026 is to move Nigeria from a consumption-driven economy to a production-oriented one by strengthening the ceramic value chain, which he said sits at the intersection of housing, infrastructure, manufacturing and industrial energy demand.

“Ceramics affect construction costs, local manufacturing capacity, employment and foreign exchange usage. Strengthening this value chain directly impacts housing affordability, industrialisation and job creation,” Oaikhinan said.

He stressed that NCISPE is not a ceremonial gathering but a business-focused platform designed to convert discussions into contracts, partnerships and bankable projects.

“We cannot afford conversations without conversion. This summit is about execution—bringing the right people together to unlock real economic value,” he added.

Key features of the summit include global investment and policy dialogues, technology and machinery showcases, product exhibitions and live demonstrations, raw materials and beneficiation sessions, SME integration, as well as B2B, B2G and investor matchmaking forums.

Oaikhinan noted that the summit aligns with Nigeria’s renewed hope agenda on industrialisation, export diversification and regional trade ambitions, positioning the country as a competitive ceramics manufacturing and export hub in Africa.

Expected participants include international and indigenous ceramic manufacturers, machinery and technology suppliers, raw material processors and miners, architects, real estate developers, exporters, distributors, trade financiers, government ministries and agencies, development finance institutions, private equity investors, as well as universities and research institutions.

He expressed optimism that the exhibition would foster collaborations and partnerships capable of driving sectoral growth. “At NCISPE 2026, connections are more than chance encounters; they are the building blocks of future growth,” he said.

Registration for NCISPE 2026 is currently open, offering industry professionals an opportunity to explore emerging trends, access cutting-edge ceramic products and build lasting global connections.
