Cadbury Nigeria Plc, a subsidiary of Mondelēz International, has regained its position as Nigeria’s number one employer at the 2026 Top Employer Awards, rising from second place in the previous year.
The recognition marks the sixth consecutive year the company has been certified as a Top Employer by the Amsterdam-based Top Employers Institute, which assesses organisations on global best practices in human resource management.
In a statement, Cadbury Nigeria’s Human Resources Director, Dr. Wole Odubayo, said the achievement reflects the company’s sustained commitment to its values and long-term organisational goals.
According to him, Cadbury Nigeria recorded perfect scores in critical assessment areas, including People and Business Strategy, Leadership, Performance Management, Career Development, and Learning and Development. The company also performed above benchmark in Engagement, Sustainability, Digital HR, Talent Attraction, and Employer Branding.
“These outstanding results are a testament to our commitment to fostering a culture that supports the holistic growth of our people, celebrates diverse talents and perspectives, and enables employees to contribute meaningfully to our shared purpose of delivering iconic brands to consumers,” Odubayo said.
He added that the company remains focused on continuously improving its work environment. “We are not resting on our laurels. We will continue to strive to offer a best-in-class workplace, made possible by the collective contributions of our people,” he noted.
The statement, issued by Cadbury Nigeria’s Corporate Communications and Government Affairs Manager for West Africa, Dr. Frederick Mordi, also revealed that the company won five major awards at the 2025 HR People Magazine Awards.
The honours include Outstanding Employer Branding, Best Training, Learning and Development, Outstanding Employee Engagement, Outstanding Talent Management Strategy, and the Employer of Choice award.
In addition, Cadbury Nigeria emerged first in its sector at the 2025 HR Best Practice Award organised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), finishing as first runner-up overall.
The Top Employers Institute is a global authority on recognising excellence in people practices. Organisations are assessed annually through its HR Best Practices Survey, which covers six core domains and 20 topics, including People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Wellbeing, and Sustainability.
Certification as a Top Employer signifies an organisation’s commitment to creating a better work environment and advancing progressive people management practices.
