Unity Bank Plc has launched an enhanced version of its mobile banking platform, Unifi, in a move aimed at improving customer experience and deepening its digital banking offering.
The upgraded platform, Unifi version 2.3, introduces new features designed to improve usability, security and convenience for customers. Key enhancements include strengthened security protocols, expanded quick-action functions, improved bill payment services and an upgraded Nigeria Quick Response (NQR) feature to enable faster and more secure QR code transactions.
The bank said the latest upgrade reflects its continued investment in digital and security infrastructure to safeguard customer data, ensure secure payments and support real-time transactions across multiple channels.
Speaking on the development, Adenike Abimbola, Divisional Head, Retail, SME, Digital Banking and Fintech Partnerships at Unity Bank, said the improvements were driven by ongoing customer feedback and regular reviews of the platform.
According to her, digital banking has become an essential part of daily life, particularly for retail customers who expect speed, reliability, convenience and security.
She said the latest upgrade was designed to simplify key payment and transaction processes while enhancing overall functionality and security.
Abimbola added that Unity Bank would continue to improve its digital channels in line with changing customer needs and evolving industry trends, noting that the Unifi platform remains central to the bank’s strategy for delivering intuitive, reliable and inclusive digital financial solutions.
She also said the bank would sustain investments in technology partnerships and platform enhancements to promote financial inclusion, boost adoption and improve customer experience.
Originally launched to support Unity Bank’s expansion in the retail segment, especially among young and digitally savvy customers, Unifi has become a key driver of the bank’s retail banking growth.
The platform plays a significant role in customer acquisition, engagement and the bank’s broader digital transformation agenda.
The Unifi mobile app is available on Android and iOS devices, offering services such as funds transfers, bill payments, airtime purchases and QR-enabled transactions.
