CBN Governor Launches Lecture Series to Champion Next-Gen Leadership

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, is set to deliver a landmark lecture at Lagos Business School on October 3, 2025.

The lecture, titled “Next Generation Leadership in Monetary Policy and Nation Building,” marks the launch of the CBN Governor’s Lecture Series, a flagship platform designed to strengthen dialogue between the Bank and thought leaders across academia, business, policy, and civil society.

The lecture series aims to deepen public understanding of the CBN’s role in driving economic stability and growth, foster innovation, and advance an inclusive financial system that works for all Nigerians.

This initiative is part of Governor Cardoso’s broader Knowledge Acceleration and Thought Leadership Initiative, which seeks to position Nigeria as a leader on both the African and global stages.

The lecture series will convene policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and students to discuss the crucial role of monetary policy in fostering stability, growth, and national development.

Since assuming office in September 2023, Governor Cardoso has emphasized linking central banking to the daily realities of citizens, stressing that price stability is essential to driving sustainable economic growth and protecting livelihoods.

The CBN Governor’s Lecture Series is expected to attract senior policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and students, underscoring the importance of monetary policy in shaping Nigeria’s economic future.

By launching this series, the CBN aims to promote a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and thought leadership in Nigeria’s economic development.
