Fidelity Bank Plc has promoted 433 employees under its 2026 Promotion and Notch Award Exercise, representing about 13 per cent of the bank’s workforce.
The latest exercise marks an increase in the proportion of employees promoted compared with previous years. In 2025, 376 employees, representing 12 per cent of the workforce, were promoted, while 337 employees, or 11 per cent, benefited from the exercise in 2024.
The bank said the annual promotion exercise is part of its strategy to recognise employee contributions, reward outstanding performance and strengthen its leadership pipeline.
Since Nneka Onyeali Ikpe assumed office as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Fidelity Bank has continued to conduct annual promotion exercises aimed at recognising staff performance and preparing employees for increased responsibilities.
Beyond promotions, the bank said it has continued to invest in employee welfare, productivity and professional development.
According to the bank, salaries across all categories and grade levels were increased in 2022, 2024 and 2025. It also introduced staff buses to ease commuting, enhanced medical support and expanded learning and development programmes.
Fidelity Bank also extended its mortgage loan and home ownership scheme to employees from Assistant Banking Executive to Deputy Manager cadres, while increasing applicable mortgage limits for qualified staff in line with prevailing market realities.
The bank said the initiative makes it one of the institutions providing mortgage support to employees below the Manager cadre.
Other employee-focused initiatives include programmes designed to promote engagement, collaboration, work-life balance, professional certification and continuous upskilling.
The bank said these measures form part of its broader people strategy to attract, develop, reward and retain talent, while building a motivated and future-ready workforce.
The promotion exercise recognises attributes including discipline, professionalism, innovation, customer focus and sustained performance, according to the bank.
