Oyo/Osun Customs Strengthens Collaboration with DSS, NDLEA, NAFDAC

The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intensified efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration through a series of courtesy visits to key security and regulatory agencies in Oyo State.

The Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC), DC Moses Adewole, led the Command’s management team on visits to the Department of State Services (DSS), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) between February 17 and 19, 2026.

The engagements were aimed at reinforcing existing partnerships and enhancing cooperation in intelligence sharing, joint operations and national security.

During a visit to the DSS Oyo State Command in Ibadan on February 17, Adewole commended the agency for its role in safeguarding lives, property and national security.

He stressed the need for sustained collaboration between Customs and the DSS to boost operational efficiency.

Responding, the DSS State Director, Mr. Rahim Adelakun, described the NCS as a critical institution in Nigeria’s economic development and border protection.

He assured the Command of continued support through intelligence sharing, joint operations and capacity-building initiatives.

On February 18, the Acting CAC visited the NDLEA Oyo State Command, where he was received by the State Commander, Commander Oluwarotimi Lawal. The NDLEA boss commended Customs for its strategic role in combating illicit trafficking and pledged maximum cooperation with the Command.

Adewole, in his remarks, appreciated the NDLEA’s partnership and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening collaboration in the fight against smuggling and drug-related crimes.

The tour concluded on February 19 with a visit to NAFDAC’s Southwest Zonal Office in Ibadan, where the Acting CAC met with the Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Isaac Anjorin Kolawole.

Adewole acknowledged NAFDAC’s critical role in ensuring food and drug safety and reiterated the Command’s readiness to deepen cooperation in protecting public health and national interests.

Dr. Kolawole commended the NCS for its contributions to revenue generation, anti-smuggling operations and border security, stressing the importance of inter-agency synergy in achieving effective service delivery and national development.

The visits, according to the Command, reflect its commitment to building stronger partnerships with sister agencies to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen national security and support socio-economic development.
