Nigeria Customs Service Honours Fidelity Bank for Pioneering Role in UCMS Implementation

Fidelity Bank has been recognised for its leadership in digital innovation and public sector collaboration, receiving an award from the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for its pioneering role in implementing the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS).

The award was presented to the bank at the Comptroller General of Customs Award Night 2025, held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Grand Ballroom, Abuja.

Fidelity Bank was recognised as the first bank to successfully process Customs Duty and the Pre-Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) on the UCMS.

The bank’s Executive Director, FCT & North, Sufiyanu Garba, received the award, saying it was a testament to the bank’s commitment to operational excellence and its resolve to support the digital transformation of Nigeria’s trade and customs ecosystem.

Fidelity Bank’s adoption of the UCMS is part of its vision for seamless and borderless African trade.

The bank has also launched the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS), enabling instant, local currency cross-border payments across Africa.

This latest recognition adds to Fidelity Bank’s impressive streak of achievements in 2025, including its double win as “Best Bank for Export & Trade Finance” and “Most Innovative Bank of the Year” at the BusinessDay Bank and Other Financial Institutions’ (BAFI) Awards.
