NIMASA, NSE Pledge Closer Collaboration for Blue Economy Growth

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) have pledged to strengthen their collaboration to drive growth in the country’s Blue Economy.

The NIMASA Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, emphasized the critical role of professionalism in engineering practice in advancing Nigeria’s maritime development during a courtesy visit by the NSE leadership in Lagos.

Dr. Mobereola underscored the importance of engineering expertise in developing Nigeria’s maritime infrastructure and assured the NSE of NIMASA’s commitment to closer collaboration.

He noted that this partnership would align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Blue Economy mandate.

The NSE President, Engineer Margaret Aina Oguntala, highlighted the Society’s alignment with the Blue Economy initiative, citing the potential for innovation, infrastructure development, and sustainable economic growth.

She expressed confidence that strengthened cooperation between NSE and NIMASA would contribute significantly to harnessing opportunities in Nigeria’s marine and maritime sectors.

The meeting concluded with both parties pledging to deepen their collaboration for the benefit of the maritime sector and Nigeria’s economy.

This partnership is expected to drive growth, innovation, and development in the Blue Economy, ultimately contributing to the country’s economic prosperity.
