Dangote Emerges Most Admired African Brand, Inducted into Brand Africa Hall of Fame

Dangote Industries Limited has been named the Most Admired African Brand at the 15th annual Brand Africa 100 awards, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The company was also inducted into the Brand Africa Hall of Fame, becoming the first African firm to receive this distinction.

Aliko Dangote, President/Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his leadership in driving impactful industrialisation and establishing a world-class African brand.

Dangote maintained its position as the most admired African brand for the sixth consecutive year.

MTN and DSTV ranked second and third, respectively. Other notable brands that were recognized include M-Pesa and Ethiopian Airlines, which were inducted into the Hall of Fame for building sustainable and globally respected brands.

South Africa was also honored for its contribution to Africa’s economic growth and development.

The 2025 rankings reveal a stark contrast between rising African optimism and declining brand loyalty.

The report indicates that 68% of Africans expressed belief in the continent, up from 64% in 2024.

However, only 11% of the Top 100 Most Admired Brands are African, marking a historic low and down from 14% in 2024.

This highlights the need for African brands to invest in research and development, innovate, and deliver quality to regain consumer loyalty.

Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Dangote Industries Limited, expressed gratitude for the awards, stating that they reflect the company’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and transformative growth.

He reaffirmed Dangote Industries’ dedication to pushing boundaries, empowering communities, and delivering meaningful value across Africa and beyond.
